Happy New Year! It's finally time again, Yay! I know that some of you were along with me disappointed that the walk didn't happen last year, but everything happens for a reason. If I would have done this last year, it probably would have been too much, as some of you may know my mom started to decline rapidly around the time of the walk. So God kept my focus on her and spending as much time together as we could. With all that being said, I am so very happy that the walk is happening this year and hope that all of you who inquired last year will join me this year in walking in the Stop the Silence Breast Cancer Walk 2019!
My mother, Jacqueline Wright (Ms. Jackie) was called home last year, as she fought Stage 4 Breast Cancer. In the same year I was offically diagnosed with Stage 1 Breast Cancer and underwent treatment. 2018 was a difficult year for me with the loss of my mom and then to go through the experience for a 3rd time. Unfortunately Breast Cancer will effect 1 in 8 women each year. Breast Cancer has effected my family through the last 3 generations. My grandmother in 1996, my mother in 2006, and me in 2017. Thanks to the BRACA DNA test, I caught mine in the early stage. Now, I am trying to educate my family, friends and young women to get this test if you have any family history of Breast Cancer.
So it is my hope that you will join me in the walk and to bring awareness and inspire women who maybe going through Breast Cancer or who has experienced Breast Cancer with a loved one to have continued Faith, Hope, and Belief in finding a Cure.
